"POI!"

date: May 2, 2006

I liked this song, for the layers and mood it creates, and the interesting octave change near the end! That was an interesting twist. The only quibblequabble I have is that for as long as it went on, the melody was a little repetitive. Sounds like the drums need some eqing to bring them out also, cheesy snare too haha. Still, it's mystical feeling and I like it and Shawn is gay, so I give it a 5. :)

Author's Response:

ya well thats kind of a trademark I guess - I have a repetitive line throughout and just change things subtley throughout - more of a subconscious listen more than anything :P

and ya the drums are too primitive for my liking.. and yes - cheesy snare! Lol!

yay for mysticalness and 5s!

mystical 5s!

thanks for the review brian! <3

I really like the driving pace the percussion gives to this piece, the swirling arpeggios played by the strings(which didn't sound toooo great though), and I really really like your swelling brass samples, those sound really great, except when you play more than one at a time. It sounds a bit strange then... however the piece overall is very good! I really like the music, it's powerful, and very catchy! A great work in my opinion.

muther of beens

This song is intensely cool, I can't get over how cool the percussion is, and the rhythmic changes are fucking tight. Automations on so many different things going on, and that metallic, almost toneless synth toward the middle-end of the song that starts going insane, and then the rhythm changes again...

Man, great work. I don't mind listening to this alot, hahaha. I guess I'm twisted, but your music is right up my alley.

What I did was route a random waveform LFO to pan and sent the rate to the combi to be controlled with ease.

a breakdancing sprite. I'm from the year 2068, and the digital world has found a way into the real world. I'm actually famous when I'm from, and the basis for every sprite dance came from me, dancing to this song back in your time, as a real person. Congratulations, you're music spawns a cult following that leads to the murder of 55 newborn babies in a hospital as well.

blown away by the beauty of this piece. Like Evan said, you should consider film scoring. It just seems like you have the knack for it, already being into video as well you've got a unique perspective into it as well. I love this track, getting back on topic, and all the subtle asian touches that are UNDOUBTEDLY there LJ, haha. Great work with the sound design, each sound fits each other so perfectly!, however the pizzicato I think is too dominant on the low-mid end, and sounds squished. Other than that, perfect!

-ac-

Author's Response:

Cool beans - as for the squished sounds, I wasn't overly concerned with my levels so it's probably all off but hey, it's only NG right?

As for film scoring, that would be great - maybe I could start with one of yours. We could help make each other famous!

you gave me a flu

the best damn flu ever

Something in there sounds like Dr. Mario, haha. I really like the drums in this track, makes it feel alive, nice little ambient kinda bell synths, and the reversing of some synths is really cool, adds a creepy factor. Kinda like a pedophile's themesong. :)

-ac-

Author's Response:

Kinda like a pedophile's themesong?

wow! that was the best compliment I've ever gotten!

you fucking sicko! :D

I'm glad you like it, and no pedophiles were harmed during it's production so at least I don't need to worry about any of those damn advocate groups protesting me.

I suppose you could always burn this to a CD and play it in your car while your out combing the middle schools for dates.

Thanks again man - btw - your trailer looks pretty good. Your film looks like it's going to be fairly twisted - I'd love to see it when it's done!
