The only thing

Is that the bass synth doesn't evolve like PX9's... and that's what makes it so awesome. I mean I love that intro when it goes from that deep sound to a saw to a 303ish glitch sound, but when it's in the main part of the song, it doesn't change like the original's, which was one of the reasons I liked it so much. However, as a different song, which is how I'm going to look at this, it's fucking AWESOME. That synth will haunt my dreams for the next long while, and the drums are fucking intense man, and you've really made me consider making my own remix of chaoz devotion :). I really like the rhythm the synth follows, it's cool, but I gotta say the porta sounds better in my ears :) On the technical side, shit everything is perfect, It could use a little more work on variating the pan soundscape maybe? It has great separation, but everything comes out of both channels. I wish the drums could have been just the tiniest bit more prominent in some parts, but that probably would have caused all sorts of fucking clipping problems, so I'm really not too bothered by that all, as they are clearly audible in the rest of the track. Nicely done man, I can't give you enough credit for tackling one of the greatest songs on NG and doing a fucking magnificent job with it.

PERVOK responds:

first ten that ive received from you ;)

thanks for the ong ass review, i really appreciate it. A lot of work went into this one, eh? Pretty easy to tell :P

i think i owe you a revew now, man!

thanks again!

Woah!!!

The breakdown blew my face clean off. Seriously, I had to go to the kitchen, get some paper towels, clean off the excess grey matter that flew all over the place, grab the spatula, wedge it snugly in between my peeled face and peel it off ever so gently. Afterwards I lay it on my exposed flesh like a cucumber facial and let my cells dance the healing dance to the fiery hellbeats you crafted. My face is back, and it won't look like anything happen, but what I hope you'll end up realizing is that it was all metaphor for how good I thought this song was and that the paragraph above was just a huge colossal waste of time.

LJCoffee responds:

Something similar happened to me once.

Thanks - really! Fiery Hellbeats - I like the sound of that.

Fun and happy

I'd never heard any ToS before.

I liked this piece though, it kind of built into the main bulk of the song rather quickly though, I thought... the lack of a buildup, I felt, made the main part of the song lack an explosive energy, so it felt like it was just droning on like Stupid House... not that this song drones, because the melodies and progressions are actually quite pretty and fun... I felt like this could have been much better arranged. I could clearly tell where Chronamut took over and where Khuskan did, haha. Anyway, I liked it, I felt it was a bit too dominant on the lower end of EQ spectrum, the drums were kinda suppressed, at some points the snare was barely audible. Other than that, it feels like a christmas song, it's christmas eve, and I like it, so good job fuckers. :)

Khuskan responds:

Nor have I, except shawns mixes.

When I first made an early draft, I followed shawns version as much as I could. I just want to point out that this track is not a direct mix of the ORIGIONAl TOS song, but infact a remix of shawns.. remix. Weird concept, but I think it worked.

Merry christmas.

Holy...

The feel of this song is so damn awesome... I can't get over how fuzzy it made me feel when I heard it the first time, that chord progression after a few minutes, the notes on the ambient pad... Everything about it is perfection. This is hands down my favorite song of yours, unbelievable, the mastering and pan and eq soundscapes are just perfect. Damn good job!

-ac-

Rucklo responds:

Fuzzy, as in furry and fur all over the place, as in fur standing straight up due to electric charges or some shit? Fuzzy is a fun word. :)

Really glad u appreciated the song, doesnt seem to be that many ppl that can outlive the first minute of buildup... according to the few amount of downloads, at least... :(
But if u like it, then its all fucking good!!! :D

Thanx for dropping me a few lines man!

Well...

I've gotta learn to stop praising you Khuskan, or you're going to think I'm a brown noser. Great song, ya bastard XD

-ac-

Khuskan responds:

Thats quite all right, I'll just have to set up a few churches for people like you :P

Bee...

...yootiful.

-ac-

Khuskan responds:

Love ya darling.

Again!

And I love it even more!

This one is ridiculously beautiful... The triangle on the right channel, oh what a magnificent subtle touch... However, unsubtlely, you've made the right channel the predominant one again, as in your Outside song, but only in certain parts. You've definitely got the right idea, you're mastering and mixing is among the best I've heard on NG... keep on cranking out these amazing tunes.

-ac-

Khuskan responds:

I have a triangle on the right channel?

*listens again*

Dude, thats a glockenspiel...

It's kind of hard to get balence with things like this. Instead of playing about the balence myself, I used a diagram or orchesteral layout and placed the instruments where they are relative to the conducter. Sometimes though, my music involves just one half of the orchestera, which then I subsiquentialy forget to change the balence a bit :\

My bad.

Easily...

on the top 10 pieces on NGAP.

I'm not blowing smoke up your ass Khuskan... however as Rucklo(who's so damn helpful) mentioned, there are a few technical issues with it, like synths becoming a bit too loud for their own good, far too much on the right channel, variation of the velocity on snares... however

The vox is soo awesome! I loved that, and I love the piano in the beginning, and the general feel of the whole song is just so amazing... I love it man, you've created a very powerful, moving piece here!

-ac-

Khuskan responds:

I'm more than happy to blame my lazyness for all the technical problems.
